Is there a YesPlay app, and where do you get it

Yes. On Android the YesPlay app is an APK you download from the YesPlay website — the package name is com.yesp.layapp, the version listed on APKPure is 4, the file is 38.2 MB and the listing is dated 25 December 2024. It is also mirrored on APKPure and Softonic. There's no Google Play listing for YesPlay, so on a normal Android phone you are sideloading, not installing from a store. On iPhone and iPad the app is a genuine Apple App Store listing — "YesPlay Live Casino and Slots" — which needs iOS 14.0 or later and weighs 44.6 MB. On Huawei devices the app is distributed through Huawei AppGallery; the only published version number is 1.5.0, listed for a single handset (Huawei Y336), not as a current release.

Requirements by platform

Why the sizes below are attributed and not averaged. For the Android app, published file sizes are: 92.68 MB (bettingguide.com), 81.66 MB (goal.com), 51.2 MB (afrik-foot.com), 38.2 MB (APKPure), 7.39 MB (Softonic). APKPure's figure is the reference here because APKPure actually hosts the file. A 7.39 MB download is not a full casino client; if what lands in your Downloads folder is that small, it is a stub or a different package.

For iOS, published sizes are: 44.6 MB (Apple App Store), 56.6 MB (afrik-foot.com), 60.7 MB (bettingguide.com), 80 MB (goal.com). We use Apple's own listing, because Apple is the distributor. afrik-foot.com also states iOS 13 or later, which contradicts the App Store's iOS 14.0 requirement — trust the store page. YesPlay doesn't publish an iOS version number at all.

For Huawei, there's no published file size or minimum OS for the YesPlay app. Where you see a size on a Huawei page, check what it belongs to: some listings quote the size of the AppGallery store app itself, not of YesPlay.

How to install the YesPlay APK on Android

The install is a sideload: you download the file from the YesPlay site and grant your browser permission to install it. Four things identify the file you should have — package name com.yesp.layapp, version 4, size around 38.2 MB, and a source domain that belongs to YesPlay. Check all four before you tap install, not after.

1. Confirm your phone runs Android 4.1 or higher — below that the package will not install.
2. Free at least 100 MB of storage; the download is 38.2 MB and the installed app needs room to unpack.
3. Open the YesPlay website in Chrome and find the Android download link.
4. Tap the download link and let the .apk file finish downloading completely before touching it.
5. Check the downloaded file size in your Downloads app — expect roughly 38.2 MB for version 4.
6. Stop if the file is 7 MB or under 20 MB; that is not the full client and you should delete it.
7. Open the file; when Android blocks it, tap Settings and enable "Install unknown apps" for the browser you downloaded with.
8. Read the permission prompts Android shows and deny anything you cannot connect to betting, deposits or notifications.
9. Install, then open Settings → Apps and confirm the installed package is com.yesp.layapp.
10. Turn "Install unknown apps" back off for your browser once the install is finished.
11. Log in with your existing YesPlay account — installing the app does not create one.

How to install YesPlay on iPhone

There is no sideloading on iPhone and no APK. The listing is on the App Store and requires iOS 14.0 or later, so an iPhone 6 or older cannot run it. If your device is stuck below iOS 14, the mobile site in Safari is the alternative.

1. Check your iOS version in Settings → General → About; you need iOS 14.0 or later.
2. Open the App Store on the device and search for "YesPlay Live Casino and Slots".
3. Confirm the developer name on the listing before downloading, so you do not install a clone.
4. Tap Get and authorise with Face ID, Touch ID or your Apple ID password.
5. Wait for the 44.6 MB download to finish over Wi-Fi if you are watching your data bundle.
6. Open the app and sign in with your existing YesPlay account details.
7. If your iPhone cannot run iOS 14, open the YesPlay site in Safari instead, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen for a full-screen shortcut.

How to install YesPlay on a Huawei phone

Huawei phones released from 2019 onwards ship without Google Mobile Services, so there is no Play Store on them — which matters in South Africa, where those handsets stayed in circulation. YesPlay is listed on Huawei AppGallery; the only published version number is 1.5.0, recorded for the Huawei Y336. Treat that number as a data point, not as the current release.

1. Open AppGallery on the Huawei device.
2. Search for YesPlay and open the listing.
3. Check the developer name and the screenshots before installing.
4. Tap Install and wait for it to finish.
5. Sign in with your existing YesPlay account.
6. If AppGallery has no listing in your region, download the Android APK (version 4, 38.2 MB) from the YesPlay website instead — a Huawei handset still runs standard Android packages.
7. Enable "Install unknown apps" for your browser only for the duration of that install, then switch it back off.

Data-free access: nothing announced

Data-free — zero-rated — means your mobile network does not bill the traffic to a specific domain against your bundle. Several South African betting operators run zero-rated portals with MTN, Vodacom, Cell C or Telkom, usually on a separate subdomain that only serves the betting interface. It is a real feature and it is worth having in a market where prepaid data is the main way people get online.

YesPlay doesn't announce a data-free or zero-rated app or portal. That is not the same as saying it does not exist — but until YesPlay names one, you should not plan your data budget around it. If an affiliate page tells you the YesPlay app is data-free, ask which network and which domain; a zero-rating deal that cannot name both is not a zero-rating deal.

Two costs are definitely on your bundle regardless. The download itself is 38.2 MB on Android and 44.6 MB on iOS — install over Wi-Fi. And live casino streams are video: zero-rating deals in this market typically cover the betting interface, not third-party video feeds, so live tables are the single heaviest thing you can do on a phone.

When the app does not work

It will not install, or it closes on launch. The first thing to check is the OS floor: Android 4.1 on the APK, iOS 14.0 on the App Store build. Below those the install either fails outright or the app crashes at start. The second is the file itself — if your APK is not close to 38.2 MB for version 4, you have downloaded something else, and deleting it and re-downloading from the YesPlay site is faster than troubleshooting it. The third is storage: 38.2 MB has to unpack, so a phone with a nearly full drive will fail an install with a misleading error.

It will not update. On Android there is no store doing this for you. Because the app is not on Google Play, an update means downloading the newer APK and installing it over the existing one — the app can prompt you, but nothing happens automatically. If an in-app update prompt fails, install the new APK manually rather than uninstalling first, so your stored login survives. On iOS and Huawei, updates come from the App Store and AppGallery respectively; if the store shows no update, there is none.

You cannot log in. The app and the site share one account, so a password that fails in the app will fail in the browser too — test there first to find out whether the problem is the app or the account.
